the rest of the world. so 90% of the what happens in growth has nothing to do with washington. it's coming from the private sector itself and we're overcoming a lot of difficulties. on the government side, i think the president's plan is let's grow from the middle out. let invest in the workforce. let's invest in rebuilding the infrastructure of the country. let's try time prove the competitiveness of u.s. industry and we have got to shift to more export and investment-led growth and away from residential investment and consumer spending. i think that's the overview of what he was saying in the campaign. and i think you are right, laura, that the only thick that we were arguing about was high income people's tax rates and should they go back to what they were in the 90's. that would be totally inadequate as a complete plan. i think in 2013, i wish we could do it before, but i think it's going to be 2013, i think we're going to sit down and they probably will hammer out something like a grand bargain. that would be a pretty big accomplishment. that will involve substantial -- will have to i

in washington. but now the press is working in concert with the obama administration. no longer do we have a skeptical media when it comes to confronting power. the president's liberal ideology is compatible with the liberal belief system of many media bosses. and so we are seeing a tremendous power grab in washington. that's not being challenged by many in the media talking points admit very few americans understand what's going on and certainly many voters had no clue in november. just remember, every time. every time a new law is passed, even the good ones the state grows more powerful the individual grows weaker. that's the truth and that's the memo. now for the top story tonight. reaction. joining us from los angeles leslie marshall and from washington kirsten powers, both are democrats and fox news contributors. so on the level of brilliance, kirsten, how would you rate that memo? i don't know what is worse than an f? can i give you a g? >> bill: really? what a tough prop. >> yeah. you know, bill, to bring up cuba and china in connection with to raising taxes. >> bill: you made that

washington, senator bill nelson from florida who has been trying hard to secure the release of corporal hammar. am i making any mistakes here? >> good evening, bill. and, yes, we all want to get him out and we want him out by next week by christmas. so he can be home. i would just point out that the white house is involved i have talked to both of them today. i have asked the state department to have our general council our con sill general in mat morris and consulate to get back in there again and see him. the one thing that i think is a little different than your recitation of the facts is that it was when we found out about him being in the general prison population last august, when he was picked up that we asked because of the obvious threats to his life and attempted shakedowns to get him out of there. got him into the same prison but an administrative facility and that's where you see the photograph of him in a room by himself and they have actually got cuff on his leg chained to the bed. that has since been removed but i think that didn't occur for some period of time and of cou
it firsthand this week when i was down in washington. there is arrogance and condescension in many left wing precincts despite the fact that u.n. ambassador today susan rice is out of consideration for secretary of state. we will more on that with bob beckel coming up. the more secular progressives understand now is their time in history. the agenda is clear. above all the secular forces want to change the economy. they want the government to run it and provide graddle to grave entitlements for those americans who cannot or will not provide for themselves. the left also wants to control profits in the private sector taking as much money as possible away from the achievers and the corporations. again, with the intent to redistrict the cash. so that's agenda number one. number two, is to obliterate some american traditions. gay marriage, not about matrimony anymore. it's about civil rights. and if you oppose gay marriage you are a hater, a rights denier. legalized narcotics, the left sees drug users as victims and believes no one has a right to stand between an american and intoxication much.
